Assetto Corsa Special Event - "Tough Battle"
This special event features the Abarth 500 Assetto Corse in a quick five lap race at Mugello.
The title of the event is certainly apt as the race proved pretty tough and on this occasion I did not do enough to secure even a bronze level pass, managing to bring the little Abarth home in fourth position and that only by dint of a couple of AI drivers who pitted.
Bearing in mind this was with the AI set to Easy difficulty, this is one special event that is going to require more than one attempt for the majority of drivers. In fact, if you try to win this race with the car's standard setup, you are going to struggle to even complete the full five laps without spinning out or being punted off the circuit by the aggressive AI.
In this video I had made some initial tweaks to the car's setup having realized that in it's stock state, it was simply not up to the task. Despite the struggles, the racing was a lot of fun, the challenge making it all the more enjoyable, and leaving me with the feeling that I had definitely had to earn my finishing position and the desire to find a setup and the pace to secure a better result in the future. I'm confident that with a bit more tweaking, I can find a setup that will enable me to improve my fortunes.
For the boring bits - AI was on Easy. All assists off except for factory ABS. Thrustmaster T300RS wheel and pedals.
